I lost my period at a time when I thought I was doing everything right — eating clean, training consistently, keeping busy. But behind the scenes, my body was in survival mode.
Eventually, I was diagnosed with hypothalamic amenorrhea (HA) — a condition where the body becomes so stressed or under-fuelled that it shuts down non-essential functions like reproduction. Despite my background, I had never even heard of it.
What struck me most was the lack of awareness and support. There was no clear roadmap to recovery, no safe space to talk it through, and very few practitioners who truly understood the condition.
That experience is what led me to specialise in this area. Today, I help women restore their hormonal health, whether they’re recovering from HA or transitioning off hormonal contraception to try and reconnect with their natural cycle.
